South Africa emigration 1896

Family member went to cape, South Africa 1896 but later returned sometime from 1909 onwards, how do I find the return ship

    Maybe soon someone will index it. There are plenty of records yet to be indexed. if i remember correctly you will get a notification when someone indexes your ancestor. i got notifications when someone indexed an obituary and it mentioned my ancestor in it, they indexed them as one of the entries.

    thats as far as i know how to find it here. if family search doesnt have the record, youll probably have to go actual record hunting down in south africa.

    What country is your family member returning to? This effects the records available And was there a recognised shipping route there and back, or are they likely to perhaps to have taken more than one ship?
