pioneer preacher in the West, and had labored in that

As a debater the Rev. Thompson had few superiors, and

the protracted series of debates between him and Elder

is recollected by some of the old citizens as a feast of in

tellectual and theological food . Of his eleven children

pine were sons , and four became physicians of note : Dr.

These birth Dates for William D. Thompson 3 Apr 1842 and William Thompson 24 Mar 1816 are more in line than the dates you have for William D. Thompson [KL5L-G74] born 3 Apr 1840; his father William Thompson [G3KV-5KV] born 1842.

The above information also gives some clarification to a letter, that I have a copy of, written by my Great Grandfather William D. Thompson to his son Arthur Marsh Thompson dated 16 February 1911 discussing Arthur's ancestors. If you would like an electronic copy of the letter I would be happy to email you one. The research finding the book "The History of Clermont, Ohio" was done by Julie Miller a distant cousin of mine.
