    Deborah

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    [ And, I am a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    I just took a 'look' at Jerusha HOWELL ( K2VL-Z9Z ).

I can 'see' possibly WHY, the "Temple" Work, for her, requires 'FamilySearch' "Support" intervention.

IF, you take a 'look' at the "ChangeLog" for her; specifically, regarding "Gender"

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/K2VL-Z9Z/sex

THEN, you will notice, that the Staus of "Gender", of the individual/person, was "Changed" from that of the ORIGINAL Status of "Male" (pre. 2012 in "New.FamilySearch"), to the LATER Status of "Female" (last year. on 29 January 2020), in "Family Tree".

That "Change", in the Status of "Gender", would have a significant impact of the ORIGINAL "Temple" Work, if that was done with the "Gender"; as, the Status of "Male".

    Now ...

    That Said ...

IF, you take a 'look' at the "ChangeLog" for her, again; specifically, regarding "Merges"/"Combines"

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/K2VL-Z9Z/merges

THEN, you will notice, that there have been some FOUR (x4) "Merges"/"Combines" for her, including the FIRST, which was at the time of the "Change" in the Status of "Gender".

Those "Merges"/"Combines", will have to be investigated, to 'see', if there was "Temple" Work done, for one of those that was "Merged"/"Combined"; where, the "Temple" Work was done for the "Gender"; as, the Status of "Female".

IF, there was "Temple" Work, that was done for the "Gender"; as, the Status of "Female", for one of those that was "Merged"/"Combined"; THEN, that particular "Temple" Work would be used for/applied to the "Temple" Work, for Jerusha HOWELL ( K2VL-Z9Z ) - otherwise, the "Temple" Work, may need to be redone for the "Gender"; as, the Status of a "Female".

    Just my thoughts.

I hope that this gives you some, insight; and, perspective; as, to WHY, the matter needs the intervention, of 'FamilySearch' "Support".

Also @DeborahTaylor , you would want to verify as best you can that Female is correct over Male. I don't see any sources for Jerusha attached now. There are two "Collaborate" Notes for her you could check for possible clues. You might also check her parent's sources. Jerusha is a female name, assuming it was entered in correctly and not miss read when first entered in as a Male from some document.

Deborah, when I have a person with a name with could be shared with the opposite gender I make certain I attach all the applicable sources. Sometimes in a census record the census taker recorded the information incorrectly, and I always note that in the source. For instance In notes I will show that one census listed male but also said daughter, and all other sources show she was a daughter.

Thank you for this information. I'm finding so many complications the more work I do with family search. Mostly because so many people have access to make changes. I even had someone put my mom as deceased and she's still alive. I have an Isaac who is female that I keep postponing to do the work on. This helps. Thanks again.
