    NO need to apologise ...

'Julie' is NOT having a go at you ...

She it referencing existing problems/issues with regard to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

This is an 'on-going' matter ... that has been around since the "Move", to the NEW "Platform, earlier this Year.

You just got caught in the 'cross-fire' ...

    Patricia

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    As an aside ...

Despite the fact, that one or another "Living" Family member is able to "Grant"/"Give" ... "Permission" ...

    CAUTION:

    Be careful ...

In fact, that is a VERY "Grey" area, that causes MUCH "Contention" ...

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

Do I need permission from the closest living relative to do temple ordinances?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/do-i-need-permission-from-the-closest-living-relative-to-do-temple-ordinances

    Where it concludes with ...

    Quote

    ------------------

Consider and respect the wishes of close living relatives, especially a living spouse, and accept the answer you receive.

    ------------------

That can be VERY hard when it comes to, the "Living" Parents of an ("Deceased") Adult (ie. their Child); and, their "Living" Spouse.

The whole matter MUST be handled very "Delicately"; so as, NOT to cause "Contention" ...

[ or, as little "Contention" as possible ... easier said ,,, than done ... ]

As, I suggested, a VERY "Grey" area, that causes MUCH "Contention" ... between In-Laws ...

Just tread carefully; and, respectfully ...

    [ And, of course, prayerfully ... ]

    Just my thoughts.

I need a way to flag all mods, generically: pretty please with a cherry on top, move these kinds of posts where they belong, in the Temple category, so that non-LDS like me don't ever need to see them.

(This is yet another demonstration that the Community has Waaaay Too Many Parts. The appropriate category is Right There, clear as day, and yet the questions all end up here.)

    @KakazuPatriciaJane1

Thank you for posting your question, and a special thanks to @Brett who was so quick with an answer. Please don't ever apologize for your desire to bless your family on both sides of the veil. I will go ahead and move your question to the Help Center Temple category since that will allow others who have the same question to find this discussion. Again, thank you for your question. 😊

I have been confused by the Needs Permission sign that comes up for relatives that are past the 110 years date. Many names are not done and hang out in peoples to do list for years because of this problem. It exists because the spouse is still within the 110 year range. But it not only appears for the sealing but for all the ordinances of the spouse which is past the 110 year range. I suggest that that box only appear for the sealing and the younger spouse's ordinances. It is very confusing to have to have the inside information that only one Request button will let you get by this permission required situation. Please fix!
