recently reserved ordinances have been done by someone else. Why?

I had family names reserved to do the endowments and on Sunday learned that they had already been done. I reserved these names in the fall of 2020 and have been going to the temple as often as I can get an appointment. On one name (Hannah Asquith) the sealing to parents is still in my name. Why did this happen? How can I be sure other family names don't get done by someone else?

Check the change log. There may have been a duplicate that was merged in. If the ordinance dates were after the fall of 2020, that is about the only way they could be been done. If the dates are before your reservation date, then that is almost certainly what happened. Do make sure any merges were correct.

Someone else possibly reserved the ordinances before you did and had printed cards. Then their reservation could have expired before you made your reservation. Then that other person could have taken their previously printed cards to the temple and completed the ordinances - without checking to see if they still held the reservation.

I think that is what happened. The names had been released to the temple and then I reserved them. They must have found old cards and did the work. I'm just thankful that I discovered this before I duplicated the work.
