    @Rex Wayne Shumway

    Here are two links to articles that will help you determine the reason the ordinances are not available for Elijah. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/in-family-tree-what-does-not-available-mean https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/missing-ordinance-and-membership-information-in-family-tree There are some related articles at the bottom of each article that may be helpful as well.

    Try these solutions when ordinances and membership information do not show in Family Tree.

    Check for inconsistencies in Family Tree records.

    1. Add the death date and place to any duplicate record in your private space.
    2. Look for duplicate records, and merge them. Any ordinance data on a duplicate record transfers to the remaining record during the merge process.  In this case there may be a duplicate of Elijah with a different spelling associated with the last name of Burchfield. Notice the various spellings of the last name of his father and his siblings. Maybe if you clean those last name spellings up.it may help. Look at the sources of his father and siblings and try and determine the correct spelling of the last name.
    3. Search the Family Tree for duplicate the system did not find.

    The other thing that I have done is to go through all the sources for him and his family and clean up any Unfinished Attachments. Also make sure that each source has a date for example there are two findagrave sources that do not have a date. You can click on Add or View Source and edit and add the date of that event. Sometimes that helps

    Give those suggestions a shot and then contact us back if you need further assistance.

    We are here to help you in any way we can and want your experience with FamilySearch to be a positive one. Best wishes and success in continuing your family history research.

    If you are a direct relative Ie: Son, Grandson, etc, you should be able to do the ordinatances. If you are not a direct relative you are going to have to wait. Since he died in 1912, it has not been a 110 years since his death. If you look in the temple instructions for doing ordinances for relatives, you will see the 110 year rule.
