Hello,

I am following up on performing ordinances in behalf of my very dear friend who I visit taught. I was helping her with her family history when she passed on. I added the memories that I recorded for her to her record. I have contacted all the people who have contributed to her file on family search. None of them are close living relatives who are members of the Church. She was divorced years before I met her and never had children. She does have one brother, Jim, whom I have never met, but she mentioned her in her memories I gathered of her family. They were not close and did not keep in close contact when she moved to Alaska. I have tried to contact him these past few months using an old email address and phone number, but no response. I am not sure if he is still living. He is not a member and some of the division between them seemed to stem in her choice to join the church. Kay was working on family history with me to be sealed to her parents when she became even more ill (dialysis and was waiting for a liver transplant). She was transferred to the nursing home where she passed on the morning of the earthquake. She had asked me to please help her be sealed to her parents. I am requesting permission from the Church since I cannot request permission from a close living relative.

Thank you,

Jewelene Carter

  1. To request the ordinances, contact FamilySearch. Be prepared to provide this information:
    1. The Family Tree ID of the person for whom you want to do ordinance work.
    2. The full name of the person for who you want to do ordinance work.
    3. Your relationship to the person.

    Jewelene,

Please review article at this link as it is very important regarding requesting ordinances for a friend. Sometimes people ask what is to happen, then, if no one can do the ordinances and we have been told that in due time, they will get done:
