Quality Check preventing batch submission due to required values rejecting ? unreadable character

Please help me know what to do - I can't read a date day number, so I looked at general indexing guidelines about unreadable info and it said to put a ? for a single number. But Quality Check insists on an actual min value of 1. Should I mark it blank, return the batch, guess what the date says? Here's the specific batch I need help on.

    Show them as unreadable.

The unreadable button on the toolbar is the rectangle with a ? mark in the middle.

After you mark them as Unreadable, you should be able to submit the batch.

    Hello STLello,

This article may help you to submit your batch: How do I index unreadable information?

    • One character. If you are unable to read 1 letter or number, use a question mark (?) to replace the unreadable letter or number. Example: H?ndley.
    • Multiple characters. For consecutive unreadable letters or numbers, use an asterisk (*) to replace the unreadable group of letters or numbers. Example: Di*son.
    • One field. When all of the information for an indexing field is unreadable, mark the field as Unreadable. Click in the field, and press Ctrl+U or the key with the Question mark as the picture below- You should not type the ? in the field: just click the icon with the question mark, on your tool bar to mark the field <Unreadable>.

I can see your batch and you have typed ? on the field, you just need to click the icon above on the blue circle.

Let us know how that goes.

@STLcello cell- As an Indexer and Reviewer I would like to suggest indexing the first three names on the muster roll using the end date 8/25/17. For any dates, you can't read try enlarging the image and using bright/contrast to adjust or flip the image and use bright /contrast to adjust. Sometimes this is a big help. If you still can't read the dates then go back to the project instruction "What to Index" and review indexing dates. This may seem like a long process but it is worth getting the quality check to submit your batch and helps reviewers tremendously.

Thank you for helping to do this wonderful work in connecting families.
