Where do I find my deceased aunt's list of reserved ordinances? They are not on my list.

Subject: Release Ordinances

Dear Sandra,

Thank you for contacting FamilySearch. We have released all reserved Ordinances from Harriet Kim Matic. The Ordinances are now available for family members to find and complete.

Thank you Amy. If I still have an ordinance card, such as for their sealings and I choose not to print again but I reserve the ordinance, will that be OK?

Yes, if you can reserve the ordinance again, you can use the card that was printed by your Aunt. The barcode will still track to the correct person in the Tree.

    Sandra

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

Question: Is this your Aunt - Harriet Marie KIM ( KWCR-QPZ )?

IF, that is your Aunt; THEN, take a look, at the "Ordinances" 'Tab', for her.

The "Temple" Work is NOT in your "Reservations List"; as, ALL the "Temple" Work, for her, has been "Completed".

The "Temple" Work, for her; and, Alma Jacob WANDELL ( KWZR-Y57 ), CANNOT be "Reserved" (ie. is "Not Available"), at this stage; as, NO "Couple" Relationship 'Type', yet, exists.

    I hope this helps.

yes, that is my aunt. I know the status of her ordinance work. I am inquiring about all on her list. Before she passed away at 103 years old she had given me over 142 names with well over 227 ordinances to complete. I had finally connected a source to an ancestor that led to a whole line opening up. Her family history consultant helped print all of the ordinance cards and Aunt Harriet gave them to me. My family and I had been working on them since before the pandemic. After she had passed, the policy to not return ordinance cards to the card holder, and once the temples reopened, it occurred to me that I would have no way to know the additional ordinances remaining on several of those ancestors because I have no way to track them. That is why I requested the release of her list. I guess we could go back to that ancestor for whom I added a birth record source, and I or my family could find all of the people again, but that would be redoing what her family history consultant already did. I had understood that the list could just be released to me and the status of remaining ordinances. We have young women in the ward doing baptisms this Thursday, and I would like to give them a few names for baptism from Aunt Harriet's list.

    Oops ...

    I am so sorry, I missed that reference/distinction ...

    Now ...

    That Said ...

In relation to that reference/distinction ...

I would humbly suggest, that the "Temple" Work, of "Reservations", from your ("Deceased") Aunt's "Reservation List", was have been NOT transferred, to your "Reservations List"; but, INSTEAD, just RELEASED from "Reservation"; so that, ANY User/Patron, who is a Member of the Church, can NOW "Reserve" the "Temple" Work, if they so desire; and, have the necessary permission/authority (if required).

    Just my thoughts.

Thank you Brett. So where can we find the many released names? Do we have to do the research again?

In the note you posted above: "We have released all reserved Ordinances from Harriet Kim Matic. The Ordinances are now available for family members to find and complete."

Yes, you need to find them again in the Family Tree. They were released, so they are now available within the Family Tree for others to find them.
