Adding Notes Feature

Hello

So many times when I am indexing, there are problems with the batch, or a record that doesn't belong in the batch or a batch where the records don't fit the description of the batch, etc. I wish so badly that I can attach a note to the batch and return it, or flag it for review or something. Can there be a note feature option on each batch just in case such problems exist? It seems such a waste to have it keep circulating in the system without the corrections made.

Thanks -- Lisa Nelson

If it is an image that doesn't fit the description, usually the project instructions will say to mark it No, No Extractable Data (NED). For instance, if there are certificates of arrival in a naturalization project it might tell us to mark them NED. The nice thing about that is all the ones that are No Extractable Data get a review by a pre-production team and can be placed in the proper projects or sent back out for reindexing if they are not really NED.

If there are problems with a batch, or the project instructions, the best thing to do is to share the batch over at the Q&A Section in Indexing. There are moderators there who can report these things to headquarters.
