This is not *YOUR* tree, this is the world's tree. The idea behind familysearch is that there is one tree that describes all of humanity, and let's find it.
If you are having a problem with another user of familysearch, and constantly changing back and forth, it is probably the case that neither of you are wrong, just using one familysearch entry to try to describe 2 different people. Communicate with that person, and come to an agreement that you can apportion the sources among the two people, and keep them separate.

Your question was about how to remove an incorrect spouse for your ancestor, William Short. You have indicated that Goldie Black was his wife, not Emiline Bowen.
When an ancestor has an incorrect spouse, you can replace that individual with the correct person as described in the following knowledge article'
We believe your ancestor is William Forrest Short G9SN-8LH and currently, there is a couple relationship with Emaline Bowen KC49-6YC. There is a child, Gladys Marie Short L23X-D4S who is still connected to the relationship with both parents, and there is also a relationship which no longer has a mother connected but which is connected just to the father. That relationship is between the father and a child, William Forrest "Bud" Short LYC8-KFQ. It appears that you tried to just delete the wrong mother.
If your mother is Gladys Marie Short L23X-D4S, please follow the instructions in this additional article which explains how to remove or replace parents for a child. When you click the Edit pencil from the child's box under the parents, you will see the option to Remove or Replace the mother. Click that link to replace the current mother with Goldie Black. You may have to add a new record for her if the system does not find an existing record based upon her personal information.
Once you have Gladys connected to the correct parents, if "Bud" Short should also be in this family, please add him by ID number, and remove the incomplete parent-child relationship that currently exists for him.
Should you need some personal assistance, you can call the FamilySearch Support team at 1-866-406-1830 and an agent can guide you through making needed corrections.
Once no children are attached to the box which shows William and Emaline as a couple, you can delete that relationship and Emaline's Bowen family members will no longer be connected to your pedigree.
