Hi there!

I did the initiatory for my ancestor Orfelina Ortiz Garcia in Chile, Santiago Temple. It was done on May the 13th 2006, but it doesn't show in her record K636-CN8. Could you please help me?

Here is an article that will assist you: (for some reason I cannot put in the link but go to the help center by clicking on the ? mark with the circle around it. Then click on help center in the bottom left. Then in the search bar type in Missing Ordinance and membership information in Family Tree.

Try these solutions when ordinances and membership information do not show in Family Tree.

Check for inconsistencies in Family Tree records.

1. ​Add the death date and place to any duplicate record in your private space.
2. Look for duplicate records, and merge them. Any ordinance data on a duplicate record transfers to the remaining record during the merge process. 
3. Search the Family Tree for duplicate the system did not find.

Contact the unit clerk

The ward or branch clerk must add a death date to the Church record before you can find the deceased person in Family Tree.

1. Reserve the name to prevent duplication or ordinance work. 
2. Contact the ward or branch clerk, where possible, and provide death information so he can update the Church record. 
3. Your ward or branch clerk can update the official Church record when you provide proof of death. After the clerk adds a death date, you can see the member version as deceased in Family Tree.
   1. Death certificate
   2. Obituary
   3. Funeral program
   4. Other official death notice
4. When no death date is on the official Church record, Family Tree marks ordinances as "Not Available."
   1. For a person deceased more than 1 year and 1 day, you see all of the ordinances that are completed. Any uncompleted ordinances show as Request, Request (permission required), or Reserved. 
5. When you can add the death information to a record in your private spaces, it does not affect the official Church record. 
6. A record update can take a few days or weeks. After the update, you see changes in Family Tree.
   1. For a person who is deceased less than 1 year and 1 day, uncompleted ordinances show as "Not Ready."

When the clerk records the death of a member, Family Tree creates a public record for that person. The new record is different from the record in your private space. Add the death information to the private space record. Then search for duplicates, and merge the private record with the membership record.

If the problem persists, contact us through Community.

1. Sign in to FamilySearch Community.
2. On the left, click Q and A.
3. Click Temple.
4. Click Ask a Question.
5. For the subject, enter Missing ordinances.
6. Provide details:
   1. Your relationship to the individual needing attention.
   2. Any information so we can find the person whose ordinances are missing, such as full names of parents or spouses. Provide the correct information or an explanation of how you know the ordinances were completed.
   3. The deceased member’s name, birth date, and ID number, as well as his or her death date and place.
   4. An explanation of what is wrong.
7. Click the paper clip icon and attach a scanned copy of a death certificate, obituary, funeral program, or other official death notice.
8. Click Ask Question.

This last portion is the information that we need to forward this to the department that will look up the initiatory information and get that loaded to FamilySearch.

Also if you have a copy of the ordinance card showing the information for Orfelina you can scan it and attach it.

Looked at the ID# and the missing ordinance. Escalated the case to the next Dept. Sent the patron a message.
