Hi All,

I believe someone else indexed a the following information:

• Event Type:Christening

• Event Place:Gräfrath, Solingen, Rhein, Preußen, Deutschland
• Event Place (Original):Graefrath, Rheinland, Prussia
• Sex:Female
• Birth Date:11 Dec 1780
• Father's Name:Johann Peter Moll
• Mother's Name:Catharina Camp

I looked through the roll of images, and I think I found the source at this link ( https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS8B-QQK1-1 ) - the entry for 17 December on the right-side page.

While the indexed information might be all I need for temple ordinances, I'd still like to know what the entire record says. I recognize a couple of the names, but I cannot read them all. I see a doctor's name, and maybe a list of witnesses? Your translation help would be appreciated.

We went to the URL that you mentioned in your post and this was an image that does not appear to be indexed. Not all of the images at FamilySearch have been indexed, but many are still available to connect to your ancestors if you can verify what is in the record.

Most records from other countries are in the native language of that country, and often understanding what to expect to see on a record is helpful. Film #102663252 contains images of Parish register transcripts of baptisms, marriages and deaths for Gräfrath, Rheinland, Preußen, Germany between 1690-1809.

Our final comment is a suggestion to copy the words you see into Google translate since you can usually translate from any language into English by using Google Translate.

Thanks - In my opinion, the website is super lame. I used to have a way to request translation & transcription help, then after some website "improvements" I an no longer find a way to do it. I'll try out some of your suggestions and will see if that helps.
