I was asked by the family of a non-member friend to do his temple work. It has now been more than a year since his death and I cannot figure out how to enter him into the system so I can do his work. Is there something I need to do so I can do his work? Please help...

    @Gary John Bartholomew

    You can add this person to the Family Tree records by going to "recents" at the top of any page, scroll down to the bottom to add Add Unconnected Person.

    This link directs you to an article that gives you the steps to take in order to request the ordinances. You will note that signed permission by the closest living relative is required.

    1. To request the ordinances, contact FamilySearch. Be prepared to provide this information:
      1. The Family Tree ID of the person for whom you want to do ordinance work.
      2. The full name of the person for who you want to do ordinance work.
      3. Your relationship to the person.

    We hope we have answered your question satisfactorily. We wish you success in your family history endeavors.
