Ordinances Ready anomaly

When using Ordinances Ready, selecting only Sealing to Parents, I get 9 valid ordinances (work not yet reserved by anyone) and 1 ordinance already reserved by Paul Frederick Bartschi. The ordinance is for William Conrad Vorwerk, LB3S-2LL, the husband of my second cousin once removed, so it is a relative. Since it is already reserved, there is nothing I can do with it, but since it's on my list of 10, I only get 9 SP ordinances to do.

This has happened twice; same results. Is there something in William's record which indicates the work has not yet been reserved?

Thanks,

Don

Thank you Amy Archibald. This is indeed the issue. Following your clue, under details, I checked the other parents as "preferred." In doing so, both SPs then appeared whereas, they didn't before. I can take it from here.

    Again, thanks.

    Don,

The issue you are experiencing in using Ordinances Ready is that there are two sets of parents for this person. One sealing to parent for one set of parents is reserved by one individual. This is the one you have seen and why you are asking the question. The other sealing to parent for the second set of parents is also reserved, yet shared to the temple. This is why you are getting the ordinance via Ordinances Ready.

In order to see the other set of parents on the ordinance screen, you need to first select them as the preferred parents on the person's detail screen. Then when you are on the ordinance screen, you will be able to see both of the sealing to parent reservations.

    Hi @ReynoldsDonWilsonConover

Please review the following article about how Ordinances Ready finds ordinances to provide. Please be aware that there may not be more than 9-ordinances that are not reserved by anyone. It is not really an anomaly for the system to find a SP that has not been completed but is reserved and shared with the temple by another person. Are you saying you attempted to request this shared ordinance and the system did not allow you to do so? As you can see from the knowledge article, ordinances that are simply shared with the temple system by another person can be requested and you should be able to take that reservation as part of your Ordinances Ready selection. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/where-does-ordinances-ready-get-names

If the system is not working as designed and you are unable to check the box to select this ordinance, please post that you are having a problem with the request. We will then send you a personal message to gather enough information to forward your concern to a specialty team for additional investigation. We look forward to hearing from you with additional information after you have reviewed how Ordinances Ready finds names.

Rephrasing my comment, hopefully for more clarification: The ordinance in question has been reserved by someone else, NOT shared with the temple. Yet, Ordinances Ready is adding this as an available ordinance which I could print and do. I have not tried to print this, since it is reserved by someone else.

The problem is that Ordinances Ready should not be giving me ordinances reserved by someone else AND NOT shared with the temple.

The article of where Ordinances Ready gets its names is a concise documentation of the subject. It does not say it will take someone else's reservations and give them to me.

Please let me know if this is not clear or if you have further questions.
