Re: Releasing reserved names

My husband was working through the ordinances for many of his ancestors when he passed away. We completed Bap, Confir, & Initiatory for about 50 people. I will continue the work for the women as well as do the remaining Sealing to Parents, but, there are still 25 males who need the Endowment, etc. Unfortunately, there are no male relatives to pass them to and it's difficult to get Ward members to accept them.
Since I don't know how long it will be before they lose their reserved status, would it be possible to release them now so the work can get done sooner?
Thanks!

Hi @chriscalkins1.
We are sorry for the loss of your Sweetheart, and we understand that you are interested in making certain the work that still appears on his Temple List for his ancestors is completed.
Please respond to the personal message we will be sending to you to gather some additional information about this concern. We want to forward this issue to the appropriate specialty team for their review and resolution.
We want you to be aware that once your spouse has passed, you are no longer considered related to his or her ancestors. When you wish to make this type of request, the ordinances for his ancestors will be released and those who are related to his line can find and complete the work. Keep in mind that this can be your children who are related to both your ancestors and to their father's ancestors.
We look forward to your reply to our personal message so that we can assist you.
