Permission had to be requested to have deceased husband sealed to his parents

My friend saw that her deceased husband had not been sealed to his parents and tried to reserve the ordinance. She had to request permission. When she filled out the information needed to get permission, it asked if his wife was living and had she given permission. That seemed strange since she is the wife. She is listed as his wife on FamilySearch. Why would a wife need permission to do ordinance work for her husband since she is a closest living relative?

Short Answer: 'No', NOT, strange, just a 'Process', that MIST be followed.
To the 'Question': Is the Spouse of [ xxx ] alive?
You 'Friend' will simply indicate/answer: 'Yes'.
The NEXT 'Question' will be DIFFERENT, depending on that former response.
As, my Spouse/Wife is STILL "Living", I have NOT need to g through that process.
There may be a number of 'Questions' after that FIRST one.
Just 'Answer' the 'Questions' that follow; and, provide the "Contact Information".
Again, it is a "Process", that MUST be followed; even though, the 'Answers' are obvious.
I hope this helps, somewhat.
