REDUCE DUPLICATE TEMPLE WORK!

Hi!
Please route this idea to the appropriate department(s).
I have noticed that merging often results in temple work being "completed" for a person who was thought to be needing work before the merge. This creates a situation in which patrons will be unnecessarily re-doing ordinances if they don't check FamilySearch immediately before heading to the temple.
My suggestion is to have scanners in the temple, located perhaps in the dressing rooms, or at the various help desks, or even in the main foyers (or wherever seems best). The scanners would simply "beep" the barcode on a name card and then indicate if the next ordinance is still available to be performed.
This idea will hasten the work because patrons will perform more ordinances that are actually needed!
Thanks so much!

I am experienced submitting names to the temple and thought I was careful, always checking for duplicates.
I just got back from doing family sealings today and to my surprise and almost horror, I noticed that some sealings had already been completed, so now 2 dates are showing - original date of sealing plus 13 May 2022.
I will definitely check ordinance status closer to the day we go to the temple next time. It seems as people make changes to FS it affects the ordinance status. I know that not all duplicates are picked up.
It is very time-consuming to try to keep on top of it all. A scanner would be very helpful.
