Temple work should be completed, but can't locate similar person

I created Samuel Hawley G86K-3YC, because I couldn't find a similar person. However the parents, Joseph L. Hawley and Hannah Walker had 10 children. All temple work has been completed for them. There is a birth record for Samuel, 2 Aug 1744 in Fairfield, Fairfield, Ct. but he was not listed with the other children in Family Search. I cannot find any similar Samuel Hawley's with that birth time frame. 5 of the children were Sealed to their parents on11 Feb 1950 in the Logan Temple. 3 of them were Sealed 10 May 1950 in the Manti Temple. Is there a way to check if Samuel Hawley's temple work has been completed? Thanks so much!

Samuel Hawley is my 5th Great Grand-Uncle.

We have found the original Samuel Hawley. He was combined with his brother John Hawley L8H4-MSX. Samuel's ID number is KJ48-MPP.

If you do search for the above ID, you can restore it, and add him back into the family where he belongs.

You can see from the above screenshot that this ID was Samuel, and John is the surviving record.

Restore the original Samuel Hawley. His ordinances should show as completed. Then you can merge this record with the new record you created. G86K-3YC.

LJ49-MPP has a wife and children. They may or may not be correct. You can make that decision once your have restored his ID

We hope you will be successful in finding the correct Samuel Hawley, and restoring him to his parents. We followed these instructions in the Help Center.

For temple work of the time period you are looking at, the Family Group Record archive is both very interesting historically and can be documentation of official dates of temple work. Here is the sheet for Joseph Hawley and Hannah Walker: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9QB-P3D3?i=98&wc=WWF8-FBM%3A352087401%2C352831301&cc=2060211

Note only stamped dates are official, not the typed in ones. It's interesting to see that on this sheet all the children were sealed that same day. There must have been another form somewhere that has the rest of the ordinances stamped as completed by the temple and that has the earlier sealing dates that didn't make it in this collection.

Here is the sheet for Samuel and his first wife and their four children: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99QB-PS8C?i=350&wc=WWF8-FBM%3A352087401%2C352831301&cc=2060211

and for Samuel and his second wife and their three children: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-99QB-PSZL?i=351&wc=WWF8-FBM%3A352087401%2C352831301&cc=2060211

Assuming this original research was correct, there are still several people on these sheets that must have records in Family Tree with these ordinance dates. I hope you are able to find all of them and get these families properly reassembled.

The above Family Group Records are very valuable in determining the family relationships as they were when the records were submitted. However, there have been significant changes in the tree since then. We used the beta.familysearch.org website to find these records. You are free to use this site, but it does not connect to the current family tree data base. It is a snapshot and a sandbox to see relationships and ordinances, and now deleted ID numbers. Login with your familysearch account username and password. Any changes made in beta do not sync to Family Tree.

Beta shows that Catharine Bennett was merged into Abigail Sanford, who is the wife of John Hawley who was mixed up with Samuel Hawley. Here is a screenshot of Samuel and Catherine in beta.

When you search for Catharine in Family Tree, you will see that ID L4HD-PYV was changed into Abigail Sanford in a merge. You can restore the original record just like you restored Samuel Hawley. The Abigail Sanford currently in the tree as the wife of John Hawley is LHNS-DYS. You may need to restore some of the individual pieces of data like her name and birth, etc. Catharine was actually changed into Abigail.

You can see from this screenshot that the name was changed. The birth date was also changed. You can Restore the original data after you Restore the ID.

The parents of Catharine are William Bennett GHMR-9M6 and Katharine Hawley LCJY-L3K and are currently in the tree without Catharine. Once she is restored, you can add her to the family.

We hope you will be successful in restoring Catharine as the wife of Samuel Hawley.
