Was the other person who changed it at the funeral???

    Hello!

I assume you got to this page via a feedback link in Family Tree. It will not accomplish your purpose at all (yelling won't either) because the person who made the change to the burial date has probably never been to this Communties board. Also, since you give no information about whose page you are talking about, the person will never recognize your accusation as pertaining to him or her.

Since this was a change on a very close relative, it was most likely done by another very close relative. You can see who edited the burial date in the change log. If you don't recognize the name, try clicking on the view relationship link in the popup for the user's name and see if that tells you.

When such a change occurs, the first thing you need to do is step back and ask why. Did the other person attach a source that gives the wrong burial date such as a newspaper article or a death certificate or a cemetery record? Was that other person actually also at the funeral and was working by memory? Do you have a source on the page to document your date? If there is a source attached with the other date, you need to put a note on it explaining why that date is wrong or everyone that comes to the page will just change it to the date in the source. Do try and document it properly. Not many people will necessarily trust your memory without other support.

You can also click on the other user's name and send a polite message asking where the date came from and the family relationship.

If you need suggestions or further directions on how to accomplish any of this, please post the person's Family Tree ID so very specific directions can be given.
