I am indexing the 1935 marriage license for Goochland County, VA. Date of birth information is not included on the form for either person. When indexing do I mark the space as blank?

When there is an asterisk next to the field title, it is a required field. When the information is not on the document, you mark the field blank.

You can find information about how to index each field by clicking on the purple question mark that appears when you click on a field.

The field help for birth day in the Virginia Marriage Records for example:

Type the 1- or 2-digit number for the day.

Do not include zeros written at the beginning of a number. For example, "03" would be typed as 3.

If the day was not recorded or was written as a variation of the word "unknown," press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.

    Hi Peggy,

When you post your question, please remember to copy and paste the batch name and number which can be found at the top of your screen. It helps us to give you a more accurate answer. Thank you for your participation in the world of indexing.
