Printed / Not Printed weirdness in the system

I have two temple ordinance cards printed -- for Christoffer Nilsson GQ7T-8QZ and Ola Nilsson GQ75-JPJ-- with all the ordinances on the card.

But family search says that the baptisms and confirmations for each of them have not been printed.

What do I need to understand? or is there a snafoo in the system?

When we look at these two ID's in the Ordinance tab on Family Tree, we see them In Progress. Ola looks like this:

Are you seeing something different when you are looking at the same page? Once you print the cards they move to In Progress status, but the color of the icon does not change.

So Printed and Not Printed icons are the same color, but the words underneath are different.

We hope this answers your question. Your temple cards are valid.

Hello there Ellen, I wonder if you perhaps had previously reserved these names then unreserved them and re-reserved them? Or perhaps the original reservation expired after 2 years?

If that is the case, perhaps you printed the cards the 1st time you reserved them, then let the reservation go and when you re-reserved them, the system sees you as a new user who hasn't previously printed the cards?

That is only a guess as I am not aware of any other reason why the system would show the Ordinances as not printed

At least you have them now and can take those names to the temple.

    Another thought:

If you are seeing that cards are not printed on the computer, but you have the cards in your hand, you can change the unprinted status to printed on the computer without actually printing them. Simply choose the Print function, Click Print Family Name Cards. Click Continue. Click Continue again. The pdf file comes up. Do not choose to print the pdf. Close the tab, as if you had printed the cards.  The next screen asks if the Family Name card was created. Click the blue "Yes" button, and the computer screen will now show the cards as printed.

This article in the Help Center tells us that family name cards do not expire, even though the reservation might expire. That should apply also to printed and not printed cards. Just to be safe, try the method above so that the FamilySearch program shows they are printed.
