I am in a FHC trying to use the Ancestry Institution through the portal. The US search page isn't working. Canada, Australia, Sweden, United Kingdom etc. all work. Is anyone else having this problem? How can this be fixed? Do I contact FS or Ancestry?

Since early June, FHCs have been unable to access restricted records and subscription websites due to IT maintenance. This was expected to last up to 90 days- which means any day it should be finished. In recent weeks, some FHCs have regained access, while others are still experiencing problems. I would wait until an official announcement is made about FHCs having access to Ancestry again before trying again.
Are there public libraries in your area that have access to Ancestry.com? Some public libraries (including my own in New Zealand) are still letting their members access Ancestry.com for free from home to make up for the lost or reduced ability to visit the library in person.1
We had the announcement that we have access to the new portal. Strange, I now have access to the US portion of Ancestry on all computers except for 2. I will continue to wait and see. Thanks anyway!0
Hello @Debbie Dionne-Perrone,
I just tried the Search in the Ancestry through the portal in our FHC and had no issues.
I will move your question to the FHC area in case someone can help you there.
The Portal has been online since August 12th.
I would suggest a couple things that may help. Clear cookies and history and restart your computer. Also check in settings and security to make sure your computer operating system is up to date. the current is 21H1, Portal woks best when computers are up to date. When you update your computers be sure to check the "check online" option. It is written in blue also all optional downloads.0
Clearing FamilySearch cookies may also rid your FHC computers of old links to the premiums. You can clear those by going to familysearch.org/cookies and following the very quick directions.
Good to do this every few weeks, as FS is a cookie producer.0
