    Dear karenscott987

Thank you for contacting FamilySearch. A brief search through Family Tree does not bring up Emma Wright as you have described her. However, we do have other places to look. In FamilyTree, at the top of the page is Search. That has six extra locations to hunt through. It would be best to start with Research Wiki as it has the largest amount of research. You can also search through Ancestry, MyHeritage and the others on the right side of any person's page.

    We wish you the best.

Sorry, I don't have too much time to investigate for you, a present. However, I do see (from FreeBMD website) that an Emma Spencer (possibly a totally different person) was married at Preston (Registration District) in 1906 - to either Frederick Berry or John Jolly: the two male individuals indexed against the same reference. I had a brief look, but didn't notice anything to match either name in the 1911 census.

An Emma Spencer died in 1910 at Preston, but is shown aged 65 (a fairly close match) in FreeBMD.

I know this is of no direct help, but perhaps gives you a couple of clues on how you might find her post-1901 (I found her 1901 census entry, by the way).

Update - I just made a further check, but was unable to find her sons John E, Samuel or Ernest (shown with her in the 1901 census) in the 1911 census, either.

Thank You so much for Your time & effort Paul That sounds promising and I will try to follow that up! We have less access to local records from New Zealand where we Live!

Ernest Spencer we Know a lot about because he came here in 1910 and we are his family (grandchildren.! ) Ernest never told us anything apart from the fact that he was born in Preston! His Sister Fanny did write I believe but no one thought to keep those precious letters! We don't even know when She died or where! You may contact me karenrscott @hotmail.co.nz

This was Fanny Spencer 1876- about 1947-48. She never married but I have spotted a "wedding ring " maybe her mum Emma's That surprised Me!

Lovely of You to help us! We had DNA tests and have had one surprise! We are hoping that Ernest's father may pop up somewhere sometime if someone has a test.

I have only been doing this since Feb this year & am so addicted! But have always loved history!

    Regards Karen & Mark Spencer!
