Need help with Joseph E Busby (KWJH-KVW)
Joseph E Busby's record (KWJH-KVW) shows that he was sealed to Rhoda Rawson (KHGW-NKF) in 1878 in the St George Temple. This appears to be in his lifetime as he died in 1893 in Salt Lake City. Rhoda has been identified as a daughter of Isaac Rawson and Rhoda Cutler of Angelica, New York. However, there are no sources for her marriage or her parents. I do not find her with him in Utah, Nauvoo, or anywhere else. I have searched FamilySearch, Ancestry.com, Google, and Newspapers.com without any success. Are there source documents for the sealing?
I am researching a Rhoda Rawson (G8SF-3VC) of West Almond, New York, who married Almon Willard Lindsley about 1841 and died in 1850 and am wondering her parents were Isaac and Rhoda, based primarily (at this point) on common names and adjacent locations.
Can anyone help? Thank you.

Some thoughts...
I know this isn't in your direct path of genealogical research, but there is another wife listed, Ann Matilda Rawson. The one attached to Busby has no parents listed, but the Rhoda Rawson you are looking at has a sister, Ann Matilda listed (also no documentation). Are any of the other wives of Busby related to the Rawsons? The issue that I've run into is that in the early days of the church sometimes women who died young were sealed posthumously to living men. The concept as far as I can tell, was that they didn't get a chance to be sealed in life, so this gives them a chance in the hereafter. Obviously, this isn't how we do temple work currently, but I'd look into the Ann Matilda Rawson and see if any of Busby's other wives were related to that Rawson family and might have cared enough to have one or both of the Rawson girls sealed to Busby, even if Rhoda was previously married...particularly if her husband was not interested in the church.
There would be source documents for the sealing. If you search the FamilySearch Catalog you will find them under St George: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=206310&query=%2Bplace%3A%22United%20States%2C%20Utah%2C%20Washington%2C%20St.%20George%22&subjectsOpen=427876-50,336758-50
Not sure if they would show up under sealing for living or sealing for dead, as he was apparently living, but she was likely dead. The records will show how to access them. I believe they are all on microfilm and limited to access in Salt Lake Family History Library.
Hope this helps give you a direction in your research.

This is very helpful. Thank you!
If the two Rhoda Rawsons are the same person, do you happen to know whether I should seal her to the man that she actually married? I would think so, and then let her decide which sealing to accept. Thank you again.
