Indexing/Tagging of Document/Photo/Audio type Memories
Disclaimer: I'm sorry if this idea is not fully explained/developed.
I think it would be good/nice to implement some cross-functionality between Memories and Web Indexing. What I envision is a workflow to help users with certain types of Memory entry to the tree.
Say for example, I have a handwritten document that I want to upload to the Tree and attach to multiple persons. I can do this currently in Memories/Gallery if I add a title to the media and add a Description/Story as fields for Indexing/transcription. I believe the PDF or Document type media is not searchable. From what I recall - If you upload a searchable PDF to FamilySearch it converts it to non-searchable. What I am suggesting or would like is the ability to upload a 'personal project' to Web Indexing and for that to be a searchable type of Document in the Memories/Gallery. For - Audio type records it would either be nice to convert with voice recognition to a transcript or at least tag certain timestamps with certain events in the tree - for example, when grandma talks about her marriage [2:15 - at 2:15 in the audio].
NOTE(s): The current version of Memories pretty much already has this type of notation for audio available - it appears I submitted the idea without completely reviewing current functionality. It appears that Web Indexing app does have some capability to 'Create Group' - type 'family' but that there appears to be no administrative options to point to Memories or other location for source documents to index (meaning all current projects are administered through FamilySearch/partners adding the images. I am not certain that my ability to even view 'create group' is not because I serve as a Ward Family History Consultant.
Benefit:
Part of the Genealogical Process is for users to gather their own 'shoebox' items from home and convert them into Memories to attach in the Tree. This would allow users to upload, transcribe, store personal documents in Memories and allow for Indexing of 'personal document projects'. The process is the same whether it is a record source from home, a private collection or government authority - gather records/mages of them, index/transcribe, tag/attach in the tree.
Disadvantage:
Some document/media types may be too large in size - so a process of how to break those down into acceptable sized chunks.
