indexing Ireland marriage record
The indexing fields include groom's and bride's parents. I am pretty sure they do not want me to include witness names as POSSIBLE parents - but I believe it IS POSSIBLE that some witnesses listed are parents of either bride or groom. For example, in this record image the groom is Michael Moylan and there is a witness John Moylan Jr. who COULD be his father or other relation. The bride is Ally Hogan and there is a witness Michael Hogan - again a POSSIBLE father or other relation. But since no relation is specified I will leave the indexing fields for parents blank - but wouldn't it be good to record the witnesses which are possible relations? It would also be nice to include where the bride and groom are from - as in the above image it lists where each are from. Is there a way to add witness or residence fields or are most projects usually restricted only to fields that are included?

Hello @genthusiast 1 thanks for asking about that. The best practice will be to leave the parent space blank since it was not specified on the form that the witnesses are the parents.

Son muy buenas sugerencias las que compartes, de lo que sería mejor, aunque cuando indexamos transcribimos, copiamos exactamente sin suponer, lo que la plantilla nos pide.
Si no están los datos, los dejamos en blanco.
Ningún dato se perderá, y al abrir, el familiar directo de esa persona que está en ese registro, podrá ver y analizar todo ese certificado sabiendo con certeza quienes son.
