    Hello @Hilde B. Snitchler

    Are you referring to unreserve or unshare? There is a difference:

    "You can usually unshare an ordinance that has been shared with the temple. Here are two exceptions:

    • The temple has printed the name card. Once that happens, the ordinance can't be unshared.
    • Someone else reserved the ordinance while it was being shared. This is a secondary reservation that expires in 90 days. If the secondary reservation expires, and the ordinance is still available, you will have the opportunity to unshare it."

    Regarding unreserving:

    "Find the ancestor whose ordinances you want to unreserve. Click the check box next to his or her name.

    • If the check box is not available, it means that you have shared the ordinance with the temple, and the temple has already printed it for another temple patron to do. It may also mean that the ordinance has already been given to someone through Ordinances Ready or that someone else reserved it before a record merge."

    Also, ordinances that were previously shared with the temple cannot be shared again:

    From the knowledge article, "How do I share a family name with the temple?"

    "Second, after an ordinance is shared with the temple, it becomes available for other people to reserve. This can be a great blessing for people who want to serve their ancestors in the temple. Note: A name can only be shared with the temple once. If you reserve a name that has already been shared with the temple, you cannot share that name with the temple again. Attempting this will result in an error message."

    Does this information help answer your question?

    Hi Hilda.

    We need a bit more information from you please to be able to help - such as names and Ids of the reservations you would like to unreserve.

    If the Temple has already printed the ordinance/s then that is one reason why it will not be possible for you to now unreserve

    I have 8.772 names in "My reservations" and I would like to share them with the temple, but i cannot get them to "share" or "share with the temple". On the right side it gives the "Ordinances cannot be shared again with the Temple" message. Do I have to "unreserve" all those names before I can share them with the temple?

    @Hilde B. Snitchler

    The message that ordinances cannot be shared again with the temple is from ordinances that you reserved that were already previously shared with the temple.

    The temple icon with a clock in it are ordinances that have already been shared with the temple by another user. If you choose to reserve one of these ordinances, you can complete the temple work within 90 days or the ordinance returns to it's place in the shared temple list.

    Since these ordinances are already on the shared temple list, you cannot share them again to the list. If you don't want these ordinances in your reservation list, you will need to unreserve them. This will put them back in their original place in the shared temple list.
