I am looking for any info regarding the adoption of my 3gg-mother.
She was born in Jamaica 10 Sep 1787 to Capt Charles McMurdo and Susan Leslie. The only info I have is she was adopted by the Scott family (from Bodtalog Towyn Wales) and married George Jeffreys (from Glandyfi in Cardigan Wales) 1 Aug 1814. Her death is 19 Dec 1869. Any info or references would be greatly appreciated.

Art,
Could you share your 3gg-mother's name? Where did she live? Did she live and die in Wales? What city did she live in when she died? Do you know where she was buried?
Based upon the time period of this adoption, let's invite the @Wales Genealogy Research to offer input about this.

3gg-mother's name? - Born Justina Leslie-McMurdo to Susan Leslie & Capt Charles McMurdo in Jamaica (baptised at St Andrews Church 8 Sep 1788.)
Where did she live? No details as yet (1788-1814). Many refs to being adopted by Edward Scott (1752-1843) of Bodtalog, Towyn, Wales. Next ref is as Justina Scott being married (1 Aug 1814 at St Cadvan's Church, Towyn) to George Jeffreys (1788-1868).
Did she live and die in Wales? Justina spent the remainder of her life with George Jeffreys at Glandyfi Castle, Machynlleth Wales according to 1841, 1851 & 1861 census.
What city did she live in when she died? Machynlleth (19 Dec 1869)
Do you know where she was buried? St Michaels Church, Eglwys-fach, Cardigan, Wales
Thank you!

I just joined the group. I also joined two other groups. Should I post same question in all 3 or are the post and answers consolidated into one thread? TY

You asked a great question. The threads stay in the group where they are posted, unless there is an @mention. If someone uses the @ directly in front of the name of a group, the thread will repeat in that group also.
