What do you get with the death notice download from GRO
Hello again.
I cannot for the life of me find the death records for my wife's grandfather.
The end result would really be that we would like to know where he is buried or some detail that would lead us there.
He served in the WW1 and believe we have found his Regimental number and Medal card and benefits. He was gassed and left the family some time in the 30's in Canada to go back to what the family always called an old soldiers home. It may have been to receive special care and he was not entitled to healthcare in Canada as he was a British soldier, so had to go back to not be a burden.
Anyway here is my question, if I buy the documentation below will this show me more details and possibly where he is buried. Is there an example on line to see what would be on it.
Of course it may not be him, but I also don't want to just get a piece of paper saying this fellow died and nothing else.
Regards
Here .

Well, had a little time and purchased the image. Sadly not as much info as I had hoped. It confirms his death date which we knew from other references, but nice to actually see where it came from.
It does not say if he was buried. We knew he was in Bradford already so it really does not add much.
The niece who found him we do not know of and does not appear that I can see in the tree. So now we question if this is the John Hustler we are looking for. GS1D-JYS. It appears he was working as a gardener. I have to check with the in-house nurse to see if what he died of and if it could be related to Gas.
Ps Here is the record if anyone wonders what you get.
Regards.
Well asked nurse. She says the cause is not specifically due to Gas related issues. But who knows how it affects you.

Well I miss spoke... sort of. Searching for Firth as the married name of John H.'s sisters, eventually came up with something, which we had not logged yet. We found Hustler sisters, living in t he Firth household having married one of the Hustlers. So there is a connection. Yaaah.
It doesn't give us any info regarding burial. Its still someone satisfying to put a few more puzzle pieces together.
Regards.

This is simply the death certificate and nothing to do with the burial. As it was issued two days after death, the burial is unlikely to have happened until later. Even if the burial had happened, it would not be mentioned on the death certificate. You will need to search burial records as a separate exercise (Billion Graves, Find A Grave?).

@Graham Buckell said "You will need to search burial records as a separate exercise (Billion Graves, Find A Grave?)."
Add to that list, consulting the local authority for the area where he was buried (find their website first). They should hold records of "municipal" cemeteries in their area. If they have handed their historical records over to DeceasedOnline (another website to add - https://www.deceasedonline.com/servlet/GSDOSearch ) they will direct you to them. Otherwise, they ought to answer any queries.
In this case, you might find these 2 URLs of use:

I have been unable to find the burial of my maternal great-great grandfather, who died in Essex in the 1930s.
I searched in every burial register held at the Essex Record Office, then the archivist suggested that maybe he wasn't buried at all - but cremated! I haven't followed this through yet, but have been given the contact details for the local crematorium for the area.
Just a thought, but maybe this is another line of investigation in discovering the details of your wife's relative's final resting place.

Thank you for your advice.
With the suggestions from @Graham Buckell I have actually paid the 12 Pounds to have the Bradford local government see if they can find it. I just now sent off an email to the researcher with all the details I have which is considerable I think, death record, military numbers, place he lived and died. Hey I have used less. Paying 12 Pounds to save me Weeks of frustration in searching for information , which I have already spent on this seems worth it. And its possible that the info is not not be available to us mere mortals. I mean I paid 2 or 3 pound to find the death info from GRO seems worth it as well. That little bit of info allowed me to dig into a number of unknown family member, just from one name on the death record. It's amazing how one little thing can turn things around. There comes a time however when you have to raise the white flag. :)
Thank you. I sense that he was cremated as well?
I will get back to this post with info that they find out. Just to update you on the process. I know its interesting to know the process that leads to success well or failure.
