Hello @ccr1107,
You're welcome.
I see you are using Thode to define "Beisitzer" which I also use for German words. I have always found the word "Beisitzer" difficult to define. I've also seen the word defined as an assessor or a council/committee member but these might be more modern definitions.
You can find additional definitions for the word "Beisitzer" at the online Wörterbuchnetz site: https://www.woerterbuchnetz.de The results will be in German but you can use your browser's translate function to translate to English.
Given the day laborer and Häusler occupations, he was probably either a day laborer and/or a cottager, and perhaps living with his parents though not necessaily unemployed.

Hello @ccr1107,
I agree with your interpretation of the father's occupation; as written in the record it is "beisizer" = Beisitzer.
I agree with your interpretation of the cause of death as "Abzehrung" = emaciation, consumption.

@Robert Seal_1 Thank you.
I've never seen that occupation listed before. The translation I see for beisitzer is Junior lawyer; juryman; inhabitant without land (e.g. a son living with his parents) and without citizenship rights or duties. So maybe unemployed and living with his parents? For context, he was listed as a day laborer in 1814, beisitzer in 1820 and a hausler in 1822.

@Robert Seal_1 Thank you! I agree with your assessment. I've also read it might mean they weren't a citizen of the town, but they were allowed to work and reside there.
