Trying to figure out which date is the proper date on a record.
I will upload a document that has dates on it but its confusing to me.
The second to last entry is confusing. Clearly at the top of pate, it says 1914. But 1915 is also written on some of the records. One would think that the baptism was March 7 1914, I mean it says "When Baptised" but then is the date at the far right the birth date, which while there is no heading for someone might have added cause that's logical to have it on the document, but then the date on the far right says of that second to last entry says Jan 1 1915, so if thats the birth date then maybe March 7 is 1915. Bottom line is I'm confused. Can anyone tell me the birth and bap date?
Thank you.

Yes. I would surmise that those were birth dates. I would enter the Jan one as the birth and the Mar as the baptism.

I agree that verification of the hypothesis is always a good idea.
Looking at gro.gov.uk, there was a Jack Patrick Thompson who birth was registered in the London area (specifically Marylebone) in the second quarter of 1901 which is consistent with the supposed birth date in entry #1925.
Evelyn Constance Smith's birth was registered in the London area the first quarter of 1915. Her mother's maiden name was Brushette
FreeBMD has a marriage between a Stanley George Smith and Florence Louise Brushette in 1908.
Between fullnames matching the parish record to these registers and finding other birth register entry dates matching those listed in the last column, it is almost certain that Evelyn was born 1 Jan 1915 and baptized 7 Mar 1915.

It looks like the year changes to 1915 in the entry above.

I see what your saying.
So does that mean the bap date is March 7 1915. What are the dates on the right hand side?

Thank you very much. M.L.

I would look at a few previous pages of the registry to see if they wrote birth date somewhere. Also, you could try to verify by looking for the couple of entries that were born in "1901" to see if they are the right age on census records. It does appear to be birthdates but I'd try to verify just to be sure.
