Brick Wall
Hello!
I have a brick wall that I am needing help with. Since my 2nd great-grandma was born in Germany, I am thinking that someone in this group might have German Church Records with her in them. I have an idea who her parents might be but not sure. Trying to find the birth parents of one of my 2nd great-grandmother’s; Dora Kölling. Dora was born December 25, 1837, in Germany. She married William Weir February 3, 1857, in Ripley County, Indiana. Dora died January 13, 1931, in Bartholomew County, Indiana. They had 3 children: Elizabeth A. Weir, who was born about 1859 in Ripley County, Indiana, and died March 1932 in Jackson County, Indiana. They also had two infant children. Not much is known about her husband, William. I have estimated his birth date to be about 1832, and his death date to be about 1858. Their is a family story that says he died in a drowning accident.
After William died, Dora married Henrich/Henry Bloom on June 7, 1861, in Ripley County, Indiana. Variations of the surname Bloom are Blume and Bluhm. Henry was born February 12, 1841, in Hanover, Prussia, Germany, and died February 16, 1904, in Waymansville, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Together they had 10 children. I have found Henry with his family in the 1850 and the 1860 Census living in Ripley County, Indiana. I can’t find Dora anywhere in the 1850 or the 1860 Census. Her daughter Elizabeth should show up in the 1860 Census. Henry and Dora were in Bartholomew County in 1870, and she is listed as Mattie, which is probably a nickname, (probably for her middle name).
Throwing in another “wrench” is this: On her daughter, Elizabeth’s death certificate it lists her Father as William Weir and her Mother as Dora Tebbe. Another variation of Tebbe is Tebby. Where does that surname come into play?
Hope someone can help me solve this.
Thanks!

I found https://gw.geneanet.org/spurgeonelkins?n=kolling+tebbe&oc=&p=dora.
Could Tebbe be a second given name?
At least her place of birth is not just "Germany" any longer - this contribution lists Kingdom of Hannover ... still a needle in the heystack.
I would recommend you contact Shirley SCHMIDT (spurgeonelkins) and ask whether she has found out more since publication of these data.
https://ggs.spdns.eu/?CN=dora&SN=K%C3%B6lling&BD=&DD=&PLACE= lists another Dora born 1848 in Bechendorf - but I cannot find any Bechendorf in Germany. You could also use GGS to check where Kölling shows up around 1830...1850 - there might be a cluster, which could further narrow down your search for her place of birth.
http://isodp.hof-university.de/fuzzyg/query/?q=bechendorf&cc=GM&cc_default_=1&fc_default=1&fc_default_=1&fuzzy=0&threshold=60 lists location names close to Bechendorf- check whether any of them lies in the (what used to be) Kingdom of Hannover.
