Transcription and Translation Help for Birth Record (Willingshain, 1722)
Requesting help in transcribing and translating the birth record of [?] Völcker, 1722.
- ... Mai Johannes Völckers Ehefrau, A ... einan Junge... Sohn gebohren, getauft eodem die, gewatter war von Gersdorf, Burkhard Hahns Sohn.
1 May, Johannes Völcker's wife A[nna] .... a young ... son, born [and] baptized the same day, godfather was from Gersdorf, Burkhard Hahn's son.
Other birth records showing father Johannes also show his wife as Anna Catharina. I presume she is the mother of this child too.
This record appears to be lacking names of both the child and his godfather. Is that correct? Isn't the godfather's given name typically the given name of the child?
Thank you for your help!

Hello @Rogers
Transcription:
1. ... Maÿ Johannes Völckers Ehefrau, A. Eva einen Jungen Sohn gebohren, getauft eodem die, gevatter war von Gersdorf, Burkhard Hahns Sohn.
Translation:
1 May, [from] Johannes Völcker's wife A[nna] Eva a young son [was] born [and] baptized the same day, godfather was from Gersdorf, Burkhard Hahn's son.
My comments: The symbol in the original record between "1." and "Maÿ" may be a suffix converting the cardinal number "1" to an ordinal number "1st".
The mother's name in this record is "A. Eva" = Anna Eva.
It's atypical to have both the child's name and the godfather's name omitted from a baptismal record.
