Translation German birth records please

Hello, I am helping a friend. I need to find out if this birth record indicates that Kurz Gottfried born 9 April 1881 is male or female and name of parents.

He is indicated female on FS. ID 9W68-XZ2. The following source would be the only source that identifies Gottfried as a female but I can't read it.

Here is a translation of the complete record:

Continuing record number: 630.

Last and first names of the child: Kurz, Gottfried.

Birth day and month: 9 April [1881].

Parents' first name and status: Karolina, unmarried factory worker.

Parents' place of origin: Hornstein, Sigmaringen.

Remarks: free.

My comments: There is no indication in this record of the child's gender but given the child's first name of "Gottfried" this child is male. The feminine form of this name would be: Gottfrieda.

Thank you so much. I have pretty much established the sources for 9W68-XZ2, who is on Family Tree as a female. So, now how do I proceed?

Do I call Support?

Do I add a male Gottfried Karl Kurz to the parents and put the sources there?

Or?

I made a note on the source that it was not indexed properly as to gender. The film shows no gender, but as you said the name Gottfried is male, and in other sources he is listed as Gottfried Karl.

I'm not sure as where to go from here.

What do you think. Support is not taking calls today. (That is not to say that I wouldn't ask you first. ;) )

You can edit Gottfried Kurz's gender yourself in Family Tree.

Find Gottfried's record using ID 9W68-XZ2. When his full record is displayed, go to "Sex" under "Vitals" and click on "Edit" and change the gender from "Female' to "Male". Add your reason explaining why this information is correct.

This should work for you.
