i've done most of the research except in the 1861 census richard lockyer is married to johanna born in abt1822 in ireland

i cannot find the maiden name of johanna and when they were married also there seems to be some question about when richard lockyer died. i believe it to be 1871.

Where does Henry, born abt 1860 fit it?

L6FS-XYN is shown as married to Sarah Prior and she was still alive in 1851. Are you saying that Johanna appeared in the 1861 census?

in the 1861 census richard lockyer (maybe seen as lockeyer) on the census, shows johanna as his wife

i know he married sarah prior in 1826

henry was born in kensington , son of richard , and shows him 11mths old

Free BMD offers two possible marriages of a Richard Lockyer in London in the 1850s

The Kensington one has possible wives as Ellen Adams or Ann Stewart. The Mile End one has Mary Jane Curtis or Margaret Linskey. None of these are Joanna McCarthy. Ann might be Joanna. Given Richard's age, chances are that his spouse would have been a widow thus explaining the absence of McCarthy.
